Sad Truth or Perfect Planning?

So Raz B is saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost while accusing his former manager, Chris Stokes, of molesting him all in the same video? His semi-quoting scriptures, followed by cursing, then offering to take a life if someone touched is kid, and then back to the lord will take care of things and in all that, he made a tape the conversations and uploaded them to the Internet. For sure the Bible speaks on forgiveness and turning the other cheek, but not so sure about what the good Lord had to say about youtube. Then to have your business partner, Kevin Sullivan, make a statement after you posted it online saying the singer is not ready to elaborate on his video allegations at this point, but that he is conferring with lawyers and preparing a statement that will possibly help explain his claims. Sounds crazy or at the very least confused as hell, oh wait we get it, your lawyers called on the "bat phone" and told you how dumb you were for releasing it to youtube instead of the police or the lawyer himself and has no advised you to shut up.

Look, if this turns out to be true, then why the hell would an older brother(Ricardo "Ricky Romantic" Thornton) put his younger brother(Raz B) in the exact same situation he was in especially when he said he new it was wrong from the beginning. However, if it’s not true and they are just trying to get their names circulating again for the reality TV show, then that’s disgusting. "With something of this magnitude, you always look at what the best time is [to talk about it,] and he felt compelled ... that this has built up, He(Raz) was saying, 'I'm tired, this is my story.' It's something that's spiritual, and God says now is the time" Sullivan said." Was that God saying the time is now or management and PR saying the time is now? These are very serious claims and to tarnish someone’s name with something like this and it be untrue is terrible. No matter if Chris Stokes is cleared of all allegations, people are still going to be giving him that sideways Michael Jackson look, thinking what if?

Either way in this situation the outcome is bad, but take a look at the videos, thoughts?

Give this girl her props!

Last night (12/23/07) in NYC Power 105 aired an intimate concert of Tamia: Between Friends. To say that this young lady is underrated would be a serious understatement. Angelic voice, great sense of humor, beautiful, smart, generous, the list just goes on and on. She performed a series of classic songs, Christmas songs and new songs and everyone one was a crowd pleaser. Not to mention that her background singers were doing their damn thing. Tamia has been grinding on the music scene for years, consistently putting great music and never really getting her just do. Sure there are many artists that go through the same thing, but Tamia seems to stand out with and abundance of beauty, brains, and talent. With that being said, in true star fashion Tamia closed the show and brought down the house with an electric performance of Stranger In My House, how many artist can give you chills through the radio at live performance at a club. It was AMAZING.

Nick win over Patti: Are you serious?

So the results are in and the winner is Nick and his choir, but we are the real losers because they are going to perform again and again and again with Nick at the helm. Let's just be serious for a minute, there is no way in hell that his choir was better than Ms. Patti's. America must have either been confused since everyone was kicking off their shoes or wanted to play a cruel joke and make us suffer. New album in stores, Nick Lachey and the New Nation, could you imagine the horror. If you even heard the show recaps, there is just no comparison, hands down Patti had that competition in the bag. Such much for the person with the most talent winning. Your the winner in our eyes Patti.

Sidebar: Do you think prime time is ready for PATTI LABELLE? She gets away with stuff that only Patti can do.

Pimpin the whole Family

Let's see we have the Hulk Hogan, Rev Run, Snoop Dog, Kim Kardashian, Ozzy Osbourne, Irv Gotti, Keyshia Cole, Victoria Gotti, Kimora Lee Simmons, and the list goes on and on of celebrities, purposefully or inadvertently exploiting their families to get ahead. Sure most say and have said, "I am just keeping it real and letting you into my life", however is it really true? Is there anything real in reality TV at all? Nothing is live, its taped, re-tapped, edited, etc. and now it seems like the norm to drag your entire family into the process. Does the entire world really need to know what kind of clothes/games your children like or their favorite food? How about that your mother has spent most of her life on drugs has multiple children, some of which she has no clue how to find and is a functioning alcoholic? Yes we know that there are other people who go through this every day and could learn from this or relate, but wouldn't we have to be showing them the truth for them to see how it really gets fixed. Sounds like "cha-ching" and nothing else. There was a time when we would shield our children from the media and being exploited or even mentioned, now its the parents selling them to the highest bidder. Guess everyone deserves their 15 minutes of fame or longer, but maybe they should be old enough to decide if the really want it and how its going to shape the rest of their lives. They could be pregnant a 16 and instead of working it out at home with the family, their thought is how much money they can make off the sell of the story, but that's just a hypothetical situation.

Jamie Lynn: more like Brit everyday

Jamie Lynn Spears has truly grown up over the years and like most young girls, has probably said or thought at one time or another, "I want to be just like by big sis," but did she go too far. Jamie Lynn Spears, 16-year-old baby sister of Britney Spears, told OK! Magazine during an interview that she is pregnant. In the interview, which is scheduled to hit newsstands Wednesday, Jamie-Lynn Spears reportedly tells the magazine the baby's father is Casey Aldridge, her boyfriend whom she met at church. She also goes on to say(about teenage premarital sex), "I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait," she says. "But I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in." Well she got that part 100% right and n the famous words of Ms. Jones, if "you like it, I love it"

Now that's the "short and skinny" of it, but lets get to the "meat and potatoes". Why the hell is the "child" having a child? Sure you want to experiment with your body, starting to figure out what things feel good, great no problem, so go have some good old fashion safe, protected, triple checked juvenile sex. Although your bank account may say adult, the realities of raising a child are harsh and best suited for those that are done raising themselves and even then its tough. Although Jamie Spears (dad) is very upset over his daughter and ex-wife selling the story to the media with photos and all, hopefully both parents can agree that their "baby" is going to need help raising her baby. Thank GOD for family, even if its this one.

Patti "Rocks" Clash of the Choirs

If you find some time in your busy schedule to watch TV, make sure you tune in to NBC's "Clash of the Choirs" this week. Although its supposed to be a competition between choirs that 5 celebrities have put together singing to win earning for their hometown charity of choice, Ms. Patti LaBelle has completely turned it it the LaBelle choir showcase. Although Patti's eye for fashion maybe a roaming one, her ear for music is second to none. Her choir was nothing short of amazing. They really took the competition to new heights and we look forward to seeing what the next few nights have in store. Surely Nick and Kelly will still be on he show since they have a huge teen following, but their choirs performances pale in comparison to the Diva Deluxe that is Patti.

Sidebar: Kelly looked great, the new hair cut suits her face.
Sidebar 2: Catch how Patti was laughing at the "fools" auditioning for her choir.

Janet's getting great "Feedback"

The newest single to captivate audiences from Ms. Jackson is called "Feedback" and it certainly has the world buzzing. Very reminiscent of Brit's first single, Feedback has the potential to be a strong re-introduction of the Janet we have all come to know and love. This soon to be smash hit is crazy and was labbed by super producer Rodney Jerkins, who is determined to let the world know Ms. Jackson is the real deal. If your a fan of the Brits, Nicoles, Fergies, and Gwens of the music scene, then this one is a no brainer. Janet is offering the same aesthetic with a trumped up sound and swagger the only JANET could pull off. Get ready world cause her first name ain't baby, its Janet and Ms Jackson if your nasty...

Just check out the new look. This chic is killing them. Got to love JANET.

Ike Turner Sr.: What If?

So let us preface this entry by saying that this is simply a "what if" situation. Something that you will see here a lot.
With that being said, what if Ike never really beat Tina? Now a days we have all types of gimmicks and stories and fake relationships to sell albums, so what if they had a really good PR person back then and said this would make for a great story, win you over a bunch of new fans and make us all a lot of money. If this was the case and they were looking to pull off a huge publicity stunt, then it worked. We are all running around calling abusive husbands "Ike" and looking at him like he is the man that was beating Tina's ass. A few times we had to check ourselves from looking at Lawrence Fishburne sideways, because he played that role so well in the hit movie "Whats Love Got to do with it."
We sincerely send our condolences out to the family and to the legendary Tina Turner, but what if...

Mary J and Usher have a "Shakedown"

When you put artists this big and talented in a booth together you expect to get something that will be remembered forever. Not so much in this case. Although its a really good song and both artists are friends to the blog, this could have been so much better. Simply put, they played it safe. Mary is now really tasting global success (itunes, Chevrolet, Oprah) and she is staying on track with dollar signs. I mean who could really blame her. "Shakedown" is not from the days of Mary and KC, but nor is Mary the type of woman she was back then. She is grown, usher is growing up and maybe this was their compromise of adolescent and maturing adult with still looking to be commercially friendly in a language the urban consumers will still be able to understand..............OK that was alot. Fan of Mary and Usher or not, its still a good track, but more of a lukewarm than HOT. Did someone say crazy remix featuring... Who do you think?

Salt-N-Pepper on VH1: Why O Why

Just WHY? We all have great memories of Salt-N-Pepper from the early days of Hip-Hop as the leading ladies and those memories would have still been intact had they not ventured into Television. No need to comment on the over acting, boring story lines, and cheesy commentary, we could actually forgive you for that, but Pepper's face on a package of hair, not so much? Let's just call it like it is, there were three girls in the group (got you Spinn) and Pep you were never the one referred to as the "pretty one." Fast forward to 2007 and although Pep you have really stepped up your game (with a little help, but who doesn't have help) you are still not the trend setting fashionista that girls are aspiring to look like. We think you are all beautiful in your own special way, but maybe a self-help book would be more appropriate. Just a thought, but if girls want Salt-N-Pepper sewn into their hair, go for it and get that money. Like Ms. Jones always says "if you like it, I love it."

reach out & touch someone!

Have things really gotten that bad with social networks that we don't even ask or offer our phone numbers anymore. You could be meeting your next husband or wife and instead telling them to call you later, we now say "hit me on my myspace page" or "get at me on facebook." Respectfully both site are changing the way people communicate, however sometimes we really do need to reach out and touch someone or have a real time conversation. All these antisocial people in the world, you better get out and mingle, develop some non-digital relationships.
